As computing becomes more ubiquitous in our objects, designers need to be more aware of how to design meaningful interactions into electronically enhanced objects. At the University of Washington, a class of junior Interaction Design majors is exploring this question. These pages chronicle their efforts.

8. Physical Housing Description

8) Physical Housing Description - How are you going to build this thing? What will the non-electronic parts look like? Sketches, etc.
SKETCHES:

PHYSICAL:
1. First, I cut the acrylic and MDF pieces into 5x5 pieces, alternating the materials with adhesive.

2. Second, I used the bandsaw to cut out a cylindrical shape.

3. Afterwards, I put the cylinder on the lathe and used a rounded scraper to begin the shape of the orb.

4. Lastly, I put tape over the acrylic edges, and spray painted the orb.
