As computing becomes more ubiquitous in our objects, designers need to be more aware of how to design meaningful interactions into electronically enhanced objects. At the University of Washington, a class of junior Interaction Design majors is exploring this question. These pages chronicle their efforts.

Miles & Kim: Blinking LED Exercise One

Below is a walkthrough of our process of completing Exercise One with the Arduino

1.) Plug the USB cable into the computer and the Arduino Uno



























2.) Open the Arduino software from Arduino.cc

3.) Paste the code for a sketch into the display window

4.) Verify the code


















































5.) Place the LED into pins GND and 13



























6.) Upload the sketch to the Arduino






7.) Select the correct serial port















8.) Enjoy your blinking LED

(The LED is blinking, however it is very faint and the camera had a difficult time capturing the light)
